"Fingerprint-Resistant" Can Mean Two Different Things, and Stretching Can Undo Either

Some films resist fingerprints by repelling skin oil so marks wipe away easily. Others use a fine surface texture that scatters light so marks are harder to see. Both claims appear on spec sheets, and they behave differently on a dark kitchen front under side light. A vacuum press adds a further problem: the foil is stretched into the profile, so a thin surface treatment can be spread thinner at grooves and edges, exactly where hands land. This fingerprint-resistant PVC decorative vacuum film is specified for membrane pressing, with the surface treatment tested on stretched areas as well as flat faces. Q: How do we test whether the fingerprint resistance holds after pressing, not just on the flat sample?
A: Press a sample into your actual profile, then touch both a flat area and a stretched groove with clean hands, and compare how visible the marks are under side light before and after wiping. Dark colors show differences most clearly. We can supply sample rolls and suggested press settings for the trial.

Q: Does the treatment wear off with repeated cleaning, and which cleaners should customers avoid?
A: Any surface treatment can wear down under abrasive cleaners or rough cloths, so soft cloths and mild cleaners are the safer advice for end customers. We can share durability test data on request, or supply samples for your own wipe-cycle test.
