Product Introduction

Waterproof PVC Edge Strip - ECO Wholesale Supplier

The Edge Is Where Moisture Gets In

Moisture rarely attacks the face of a vanity or sink cabinet first. It gets in at the edge, where exposed MDF or particleboard soaks up water and swells, and a raised, lifting edge is the defect that comes back as a warranty claim. This waterproof PVC edge strip is built to close that entry point: a water-resistant PVC body with a primed reverse side that bonds tightly to the panel edge and leaves a minimal joint line for water to work into. ECO produces it on self-owned lines at Haining Qisheng in Zhejiang. We know a wet-area cabinet gets judged after a year of steam and splashes, not on the day it ships, so bond integrity at the edge is the spec that matters here.

FAQ

Q: Is the edge strip waterproof on its own, or does the glue line decide how well the edge holds up?
A: The PVC body itself does not absorb water, but the glue line is the weak point on any edge. Bond quality depends on the adhesive type, application temperature, and panel edge preparation. Share your edge bander and glue system and we'll advise on backing treatment. PUR adhesive generally gives a tighter moisture seal than standard EVA. for our recommended settings.

Q: Is this suitable for direct splash zones like sink cutouts, or only for general high-humidity areas?
A: It suits high-humidity rooms and occasional splash contact. For sink cutouts and other cut edges with constant water exposure, the cut face should also be sealed before installation, since any exposed core will still take on water. Tell us the application and we'll confirm the right approach.
