Conventional edge banding uses a hot-melt glue line between the edge and the panel. On a plain solid color front, especially high gloss or super-matte, that thin dark line is the first thing a customer spots. That's why cabinet makers moving into premium lines look at zero-joint edging, where a functional layer on the back of the band is activated by laser or hot air so the band fuses to the panel with no visible glue line. Q: Which edgebanders and activation methods is this edging film compatible with?
A: It is designed for laser and hot-air edgebanding with a heat-activated backing layer, but results depend on your machine model and settings. Send your edgebander brand and model and we'll confirm compatibility and supply a trial coil. It is not intended for standard hot-melt glue lines.

Q: Will the edge match the face foil in color and sheen, given they are made by different processes?
A: We match color at production, but an extruded band and a pressed foil can show slightly different sheen, especially on gloss and super-matte. Order face foil and edging film together and we'll supply paired samples so your team can check the finished corner under your own lighting before bulk production.
